If America is to remain what the Revolution envisioned in 1776, a nation governed by laws, then we the people must speak out, we must act and defend that vision.
The members of the U.S. House and Senate are very much complicit in allowing Trump to get away with what he's doing. So many of them are not doing their jobs. Trump is the authoritarian figurehead, and it is a very bad situation. But he couldn't grab this power if congress actually did its job and responded appropriately to this moment. Trump's reign is the result of the greed and corruption that's been eroding our government for a long time.
Hi Alanna! Yes, of course I remember you. Pat was wonderful, indeed! Still doing the music. I've got a bunch of it on YouTube and on Spotify and Apple Music. There are also music videos at https://irthlingz.com and https://youtube.com/ourlittleisland. Thanks for asking. Hoping you're doing well through these crazy, awful times. We really need a critical mass to steer this ship in another direction, as swiftly and consciously as possible.
Sharon - good to hear! ongoing warm welcome to you to visit at my eco homestead in rural south central PA bring a friend if you like, several days free room and board as my guest for some good R and R near the Appalachian Mountains west of Gettysburg phone 717-357-7617will listen to your music. i am writing a musical play.
Democrats must not be aware of the wild, racist, crazy things that Trump and Republicans believe and say.
Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon both tell everyone their sincere belief that once Republicans deport each and every undocumented person and migrant worker in America, that Republicans will force lazy Americans to go work those migrant labor jobs in the fields for higher wages.
That's right, Republicans actually say once they deport all the Mexicans, then lazy white Americans will be forced to do those migrant jobs - but for increased pay!!
What a giant load of insane racist bullshit!! How crazy would one have to be to believe what Republicans believe? It's pure racist fantasy gone wild.
I actually listened to a Steve Bannon podcast and that's EXACTLY what Steve Bannon said.
So well said with such clarity as is written in the Declaration. But the President in the current Administration did not arrive in his position on his own! And he couldn’t do what he is doing if members of Congress did their jobs (for which we pay them) and upheld the oaths they took! And I say the same about SCOTUS; perhaps doing the most damage in their “immunity” decision. But all this is the result of decades long assaults on education, unethical lobbying, and obscene concentration of wealth. With the influence of Reality TV Trump/The Apprentice was able to convince too many people that he is a great business man and a country can be “run” like a business. He thinks foreign policy is like making business “deals.” Well nothing is further from the truth. A country is not a business; the mission is not profit - it is taking care of all its inhabitants - rich and poor alike. And foreign policy is about negotiated agreements and negotiated settlements - not over-night transactional “deals” arrived at secretively with no legislated agreement. The bottom line: America of the past 250 years is over. With all its flaws and problems it was the world’s “gold standard.” No longer, unless we wake up and recognize what has happened. I am profoundly sad. How could we let this happen. I thought we were better than this. PS - Thomas Paine deserves way more recognition than he receives. The Age of Reason is a must read. His life story is amazing. He teaches integrity - exactly what is missing today.
So what the Clinton/Obama/ Biden regime did with election fraud, censorship of conservative speech, releasing a bioweapon on the world then mandating a worthless at best but actually harmfull vaccine on us, mobilizing the unelected bureaucratic state (FBI, DOJ, CIA), using lawfair against lawyers and physicians who disagree with leftist dogma is “constitutional”?
A lot of this is good, but: "He has dismantled Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs across the federal government, military, and public education systems, undermining the nation's legislated commitment to equality and pluralism." Seriously? C'mon, that's more than a stretch. Many, though not all, DEI programs, with their focus on bashing whiteness as inherently racist, and promoting segregation and identity politics, are themselves "undermining the nation's legislated commitment to equality and pluralism." Surely you aware of the critiques of DEI by groups like FAIR, are you not?
I also agree with the commenter below that it is misguided to direct these attacks against Trump, when comparable offenses against the Constitution and democratic principles were committed by the last administration. Our enemies are the plutocracy, the duopoly stranglehold on our political system and the Deep State, not Trump the person. He is at least somewhat trying to dismantle the Deep State but is, unfortunately, too erratic, temperamental, politically inconsistent and beholden to his own class interests to do so effectively. Still, overall, he is no worse than his last few predecessors, the last of which took us to the brink of nuclear annihilation.
The Revolutionary Model That Proves Another Way Is Possible
Paul Newman's business model was revolutionary when he started it in 1982, and it remains revolutionary today.
When his salad dressing company turned a profit of over $300,000 in its first year, Newman made a decision that would fundamentally challenge the entire premise of American capitalism: “Let’s give it all away to those who need it.”
Not some of it. Not a percentage for tax breaks. All of it.
Since 1982, Newman's Own has donated more than $600 million to good causes.
Beautiful summary from a beautiful person. I"ve always been a fan, and glad to see that Dennis K. has not veered from fighting for truth and justice. He continues to use classic logic to inform and educate, as these are the only hopes for ending the NIGHTMARE that we are experiencing
Dennis - you mention Thomas Paine who said "Every land owner owes to the community a ground rent for the land that he owns." He said this in Agrarian Justice. Same policy as Tom Johnson. Might you view or read my Economics of War and Peace? I am hoping to connect with you and Elizabeth once again. AlannaHartzok@gmail.com 717-357-7617

So many are complicit, too.

A southerner or conservative Republican would (and likely did) say the same about Lincoln
