The FDA has approved nearly 700 drugs for use in food-producing animals, residues of which contaminate America's meat supply and are stored in animal fat.
Thank you Dennis. Clearly we live in an upside down world. The stroke of a pen from DC would end the “in state” tariffs against organic farmers, such that organics cost way more than the garbage available to low income and middle income families which only they can afford. We are being deliberately poisoned by big agribusiness and big pharmaceutical interests. Interesting fact: a misinterpreted line in the kjv of the Bible reads, “thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” That line was reinterpreted to actually read, “thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.” The Greek word for poisoner is “pharmakia.” If that don’t wake you up, nothing will.
I'm sorry to report, but your wife Elizabeth is, well, I can see why you took one look at her, and well, the rest is history (and herstory). Cheers to the both of you!
Brilliant article. Thank you, Ms Kucinich. Another arrow for my quiver
All good points and a shame it’s gotten to this point. But I keep wondering why RFK Jr. thought being part of the Trump administration would lead to any improvement or change to Food Inc. And after denigrating the EU now Trump wants to force the EU to import our stuff. But the EU has much higher standards than we do! Why do we think we know better than everyone else? The hubris is shameful. Our food supply will not improve as long as the billionaires and giant corporations are in charge. It’s naive to think MAHA is a real “thing.” It’s all about one person’s ego and desire to be and remain king. The world gets it. Why don’t we?
MAHA is about more than Trump and more than Kennedy. It's a movement. Kennedy has made some improvements, but he faces corporate resistance and pushback at every turn. MAHA provides a vehicle for exposing the corporate agenda and pushing Congress and the president to serve the public interest instead. That's not naive. No one ever claimed that simply getting Kennedy into one powerful office would be sufficient to get his entire agenda enacted, and MAHA activists are not just sitting around waiting for that to happen, either.
Thanks for writing this much needed post. There is so much work to do.
I'd like to add that many natural products, including supplements, are regulated in ways that make no sense. There are false claims for sure, but equally as bad is the lack of any label enforcement. It was no long ago that a sweep of products at GNC showed that most of the products contained none of the active ingredient.
Let's work to fix the regulatory framework to ensure consumers get what they buy, and the claims for the product are accurate!

I think you meant, "thank you, Elizabeth," didn't you? Although Dennis probably concurs, let's give credit where credit is due.

Great article. Unfortunately, most people are clueless

You must be an Amerkan. Short attention span. Can't handle sophisticated, comprehensive thoughts. I pity you, and the rest of this country of yahoos.
